We had a pleasant wander through the Surrey Street market, where cob nuts were already on sale. Seems to get earlier every year.
Then Bethan took me to Matthew’s Yard, which was full – FULL – of hipsters!

Bethan’s pancakes were a real win. Just look at their yummy goodness:

My falafel burger was very tasty too. Definitely the place to go if you’re down this way.
Then we went to the park and had an excellent conversation about books, because Bethan is super-knowledgeable. Her great tip from this year’s Booker shortlist is “A Little Life”, which she describes as harrowing but ultimately life-affirming.
