Easy autumn leaf lanterns

It’s the time of year when things start to get crafty, with washi tape …

And buttons …

Perhaps some special buttons (I think these were found on a jaunt to Hong Kong):

I gathered leaves to make lanterns like last year, but this year wrapped the necks of the larger jars with twine and secured the leaves with some old coat buttons …

The toggle from an old duffel coat; a large teal button saved from a beloved old parka; a big, black, wooden button.

And on the smaller jars, little riding hoods and squirrels atop bands of washi tape. (Mushroom washi tape!)

It’s a time for getting cosy.

One month in, home is ready for autumn.
